FROM PARIS TO LOTUSLAND
THE HISTORY OF CARTIER AND GANNA WALSKA
JOIN US FOR an insightful talk on the history of Cartier, including highlights from the personal collection of Madame Ganna Walska, the visionary founder of Lotusland. This exclusive conversation, hosted by Worthy McCartney and led by Gregory Bishop, both of Cartier North America, will be held at Belmond El Encanto.
Worthy McCartney has spent more than 30 years at Cartier, and currently serves as the Regional Prestige Executive Sales Advisor in Beverly Hills, California. Worthy’s profound love for Cartier, and its history, makes her the perfect host for this extraordinary journey into the world of fine jewelry.
With Cartier almost 25 years, Gregory Bishop currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Heritage and Sales Development, the division of Cartier that specializes in vintage and antique pieces. In this role, he is responsible for developing and curating an active archive for Cartier North America. He is also responsible for sourcing and acquiring vintage items for the permanent Cartier Collection as well as for the Cartier Tradition Collection which is sold exclusively at Cartier boutiques. Founded in 1847 in Paris, Cartier has a strong living heritage and is deeply committed to taking care of and enriching this legacy. The Cartier Collection (1983) and Cartier Tradition (1996) participate in this mission.
Madame Ganna Walska’s passion for plants was partly financed by the sale of her exquisite Cartier jewel collection in 1971. Lotusland, renowned for its exceptional plant collections and horticultural excellence, is considered one of the world’s finest botanical gardens and a premier destination for garden lovers and botanists. This event not only offers a fascinating exploration of Cartier’s history but also supports the ongoing efforts and extraordinary collections of Lotusland.
Your participation in this event directly supports Lotusland Botanical Gardens and helps preserve its beauty for future generations. In appreciation, guests will receive a beautiful selection of carefully curated Cartier books, generously gifted by Cartier.
Following the lecture, we will adjourn to the terrace for El Encanto’s indulgent Botanica Afternoon Tea featuring
custom-blended teas and a menu of seasonal delights.
