ANNUAL Gala & Auction

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, 500 patrons, community figures, influential personalities making their mark in the worlds of horticulture, environmentalism, culture and philanthropy will come together for Lotusland Celebrates: The Way of the Lotus. The Lotusland Celebrates Gala is the non-profit’s largest annual fundraising event, raising critical support for the Garden’s operations, including programs, educational initiatives, and Lotusland’s vital work in the preservation of biodiversity.

Taking place in the whimsical and unique gardens of Ganna Walska Lotusland nestled in the hills of Montecito, the evening will include a cocktail reception, dynamic live performances and unique activations staged throughout the gardens, the exhibition installation of Grounded, organized by Ashley Woods Hollister and and Johanna Burton, The Maurice Marciano Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, entertainment led by the charismatic Jane Lynch as emcee, a live auction, and a seated dinner.

Auction highlights include one-of-a-kind lots from an Edible Schoolyard Tour with Alice Waters and dinner at Chez Panisse, a VIP Formula 1, experience, private concerts, and exclusive getaways. GROUNDED EXHIBITION

Grounded: Works Inspired by, Connected to, and Reclaimed from Lotusland celebrates the strength and renewal found in nature. 

Lotusland’s mission promotes sustainable horticulture. Our environmental ethos embodies the power of plants and the natural world to renew our landscapes. This exhibition, Grounded, organized with Ashley Woods Hollister and Johanna Burton, The Maurice Marciano Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, perfectly embodies that spirit.

Seventeen regional artists have created stunning works that celebrate nature’s resilience by repurposing branches and the wood of the majestic trees lost at Lotusland during winter storms. Exhibited during Lotusland’s benefit gala, Lotusland Celebrates, this online art sale runs through July 21 and supports both Lotusland and participating local artists.

This collaboration highlights Lotusland’s tradition of inviting our cherished artistic community to use Garden as a source of inspiration and creativity.
