Frequently Asked Questions: Photography
- Handheld cameras with an 8-inch lens or less are permitted. Anything beyond 8-inches and/or requiring use of a monopod, tripod, or body harness must first be disclosed to Lotusland staff as their use can have the potential to harm the Garden and/or disrupt the Garden experience.
- Professional photography is prohibited during public tours. Similarly, unauthorized use of drones and other professional photography equipment including but not limited to audio devices, lighting sources, etc. during public tours is also prohibited.
- Photo-related wardrobe or outfit changes or undressing/dressing in the Garden are not permitted during public tours.
- Please be mindful that your photography must respect the needs and privacy of other visitors and does not distract staff or volunteers from their primary duties. Lotusland reserves the right to withhold and/or revoke permission to photograph or videotape on its premises if abuse is suspected and you may be asked to leave.
- Lotusland assumes no responsibility for personal injury or loss, theft, or damage to equipment or other property, personal or professional, that you choose to bring to the Garden.
- Photographs taken at Lotusland cannot be used to imply the Garden’s endorsement or used as stock imagery in the sale of any product, service, business, or expressed opinions, nor can photographs taken at Lotusland be sold without first speaking with our Marketing and Communications Manager.
Personal photography using cellphones or handheld cameras is welcome during your time at Lotusland. We always encourage our visitors to share their experiences with others, however your photography must be conducted with respect to the Garden and others while adhering to the following:
The use of tripods causes tour delays, so they are not allowed on docent-led tours.
